Bidibidi Refugee Settlement Zone 1, Base Camp, Yumbe District Uganda - ICSS/25/009

I CAN SOUTH SUDAN (ICSS) is a Regional, Refugee-Led Organization based in Zone 1 of the Bidi-Bidi refugee settlement, Yumbe District, Uganda. The organization operates in both the West Nile Region of Uganda, implementing programs focused on Protection and Peacebuilding, Education, Livelihoods, and Energy and Environment (E&E).

With funding from the German Federal Ministry (BMZ) through the EIRENE International Christian Peace Service (EIRENE Civil Peace Service), ICSS, together with Action for Development (ACFODE), Joint Efforts to Save the Environment (JESE), and MAYANK Anti-Corruption Coalition (MACCO), will implement the project: "Men and Women Together Promoting Social and Gender Transformation in Their Refugee and Host Communities Towards Peaceful Coexistence" in the West Nile and South West regions.
To support this initiative, ICSS is seeking two qualified volunteers for the following position:
Position:Volunteers (2 Positions)
Reports to:Child Protection Officer
Location:Odravu West, Bidi-Bidi Settlement Zone 4, Yumbe District

Job Specifications:
  • Must be a resident of Odravu West, Bidi-Bidi Settlement Zone 4
  • Minimum qualification of O' Level
  • Strong mobilization skills
  • Experience working with children is an added advantage
  • Must have a good reputation and moral conduct
  • Fluency in English and local spoken languages

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Identifying children with special needs within the community
  • Conducting referrals and follow-ups for children in need
  • Facilitating psycho-social support activities for children
  • Reporting cases of violence against children (VAC)
  • Providing weekly follow-up reports on referred cases
  • Submitting weekly activity reports on work conducted with the children
